Chaplain Derek Hansen

Born and raised in sunny southern California. Grew up playing a great deal of baseball, camping and fishing for trout. The greatest day in my life was when I came to know Christ as my Savior on August 4, 1974. The second greatest day was May 20, 1978 when I married Denice. The third greatest day is a tie between the births of our three children (Stephanie, Rebecca & Phillip) and my three great-grandsons (Austin, Owen, Jayden). The greatest joy is serving my Lord in ministry (the pastorate and now as a full-time hospital chaplain). I love to study and learn from the many facets of God's creation. I graduated from God's Bible College ('82) in Cincinnati, OH, and received my Master of Divinity ('93) from Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, KY. For recreation I like to play racquetball, fish and ride my Goldwing motorcycle with my wife.
