Chaplain Doug Kizer

Before becoming a pastor and chaplain, Doug served as a full time public servant in Delaware County for 17 years, beginning in 1983.  He started as an EMT, and then became a police officer.  In 1997, Doug began serving part time as a pastoral care pastor, while still working as a full time police officer.  Then in the spring of 2000, he left his position in law enforcement to pursue full time ministry.

Doug currently serves as the pastoral care pastor at Northview Christian Life Church in Carmel.  He also serves as associate chaplain with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, senior chaplain with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department, and is chaplain of the Carmel Fire Department.  He previously served five years as a volunteer chaplain at Riley Children’s Hospital as well.

Doug’s wife, Cindy, is a family doctor in Fishers.  They enjoy traveling, music, theatre and movies.
